Reading Group
The work of wrestling and examining our faith and doubts is enriched when we do it in community. This reading group is a place to gather around some tasty food and discuss a book. We'll do that in a small group setting with facilitators.
The Skeptical Believer
If you’re honest, do you ever struggle with doubt? You are not alone. There are a multitude of reasons that university students today may find themselves skeptical of Christian beliefs. College is a time of major transition, and this leads many of us to re-evaluate what we believe and our patterns of life.
“The Skeptical Believer” contends with skepticism and belief, and finds a place for them to coexist. The book reframes faith from merely a set of propositions to believe, into an understanding of your life as a story within God's bigger story. This is not traditional apologetics in the sense of proving and disproving faith. Rather, looking honestly at the reasons against belief, the book can help one find the Christian story still compelling and beautiful.
Announcement of assigned selections from the book (and distribution of the book itself) will be communicated later to those who sign-up. The goal is to have read the chosen selection before each meeting, but there will still be benefit to coming even if you didn't get to it!
